1-Braces<\/strong>
\nBraces have been used for many years to align and move the teeth. The system is composed of brackets with a precise prescription that with the use of rectangular archwires will position each individual tooth to a predetermined height, tip and torque.<\/p>\n

There exists 2 types of brackets: white and metal. White brackets are made of porcelain and their clear appearance blends with the teeth so that, from a distance, only the arch wire can be seen.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

2- Clear Aligners<\/strong><\/p>\n

For adults, it may be possible to align the teeth with the use of clear aligners. Teeth alignment is achieved by using a series of custom made trays that will gradually move the teeth. Each subsequent tray is manufactured so that your teeth are slightly straighter then the previous tray. This creates forces that nudge the teeth incrementally towards their final position.<\/p>\n

However not everyone is a good candidate for clear aligners. For example, clear aligners are often less effective when it comes to treating problems such as an incorrect bite relationship between your upper and lower teeth or in cases with severe crowding that requires the extraction of teeth.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

WHEN MORE THAN STRAIGHTENING IS NEEDED:<\/h2>\n

1-Correct the bite:<\/strong>
\nWhen the teeth don\u2019t bite together properly, we will usually recommend to correct the occlusion prior to straightening the teeth. At DentsDroites our appliance of choice to correct the bite is the Carri\u00e8re Motion appliance. It is inconspicuous and can be worn at the same time as clear aligners.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

2-Correct the bite and facial esthetics:<\/strong>
\nWhen severe skeletal problems exist such as excessive facial height, advanced or receded lower jaw or a narrow palate, we will recommend that the orthodontic treatment be combined with a maxillofacial surgery.
